Who’s heard of a ‘Common Place Book’?
As we understand it, it’s a little book in which you record favorite quotations.
Some psychologists suggest that what a person jots down in their own Common Place Book, often gives others a clue to their personalities.
Be that as it may, we thought it might be fun to start a La Chatouillette ‘Common Place Book’. The quotations can be on any subject and refer to any time or place.
Here are some we would like to start off with.
‘The surest way to doom yourself to mediocrity is to perform only the work for which you are paid.’ Og Mandino.
‘A person who makes no mistakes does not make anything.’ Edward Phelps.
‘As I grow older, I pay less attention to what people say, I just watch what they do.’ Andrew Carnegie.
‘Never forget that it takes only one person or one idea to change the rest of your life.’ Anon.
‘We shouldn’t be people of success – we should be people of values.’ R Kennedy Jr.
‘Don’t bargain with fish that are still in the water.’ Anon.
The last quotation could be related to La Chatouillette but it seems our fish are not staying in the water long this summer.
We’re having a record year for catching Carp. Luckily for them, they never stay out of the water long!
Hope you enjoyed these quotes. Maybe you have a few quotations to share with us?
