The private lake is for the exclusive use of our guests. It was constructed in the late 1990’s. The waters are centrally positioned within the seven and a half acre grounds of La Chatouillette. The private lake is approx 2 acres  and is well stocked with Carp weighing up to 26lb and averaging between 15-22lb. and some reaching 30 lb. Other coarse fish in the lake include Trench, Perch, Rudd and a Catfish weighing about 45lb.There are many an accomplished fisherman’s who have hooked it and some have managed to land it.

There are numbered, grass banked swims around the lake, which provide enough room for bivies and tackle.  The Maximum number of anglers on the lake is four, each allowed two rods.

Our lake has a proud history of Carp catches, take a look at our gallery of recent catches

There is woodland at one end of the lake and natural gardens and an open field at the other. Trees and reeds edge and overhang the waters and line the river and lake. The lake is fed from the river and two natural springs, ensuring high quality water and healthy fish. The waters covers an acre and a half. There are two small islands towards the wood end of the lake. They have overhanging bushes and reeds and margins that create shade for the fish. The lake has a firm clay bottom with only marginal weed growth in certain areas.
